TIMBUKTU
London Ontario’s unassuming crown prince of raucous debauchery has been unleashing rhymes, cranking beats & rocking shows for 13 years. As part of the Canadian mic-smashing crew Toolshed, Timbuktu has contributed lyrics and production to countless albums, collaborations and possecuts and now he’s finally ready to shatter society as we know it with his solo-debut “Stranger Danger”. From collaborating with his rap family as part of Canada’s Backburner Collective to touring with Hip-Hop legend El Da Sensei and appearing in the hit videos “Pop And Chips” & “Ballz In Yo Stomach” Timbuktu has been grinding hard and “Stranger Danger” is the perfect introduction to catapult ’Buktu into the ears and minds of music fans everywhere.

Toronto Producer/Engineer Fresh Kils has been in front of a soundboard since the early nineties. From producing beats for the Canadian underground Hip Hop scene to sound engineering and beyond, Kils has worked with a variety of artists including K-Cut of Main Source, Saukrates, Fabolous, Saigon, Tyrese, Tash (Alkaholiks), Kool G Rap, D-Sisive, Moka Only Ali Shaheed Muhammed, Wordburglar, More Or Les, Ghettosocks, Jay Bizzy, Jesse Dangerously, Madonna, Toolshed, King Jus, Magnolius, Elete, Pumpkinhead, Modulok, Trupaz, The Leathers, Rich Kidd, Jordan Croucher, Angerville, Apollo Creed, The Get By (Mantis & Justis) and more. Kils also performs with The Extremities, a live jazz remix ensemble with Uncle Fes & his impressive skills on the MPC sampler have taken him to stages across Canada, the US & Europe, opening for Nas, GZA, Necro, AZ, El Da Sensei, Freeway, AG, Buckshot, The Herbaliser, Afrika Bambaataa, Sixtoo, Kid Koala, Cesar Comanche (of Justus League) and Pumpkinhead.

The nephew of Guyanese calypso legend Dave Martins, this Toronto-based emcee first started generating buzz as part of rap group Red Ants (alongside Vincent Price and Predaking), followed by subsequent solo releases with producers like Omid, Bare Beats and Leon Murphy. Having amassed critical acclaim and toured internationally, Modulok recently founded record label/artist collective Takaba. Vancouver’s Abort Magazine wrote: “sounds like the guy kind of guy who reads novels and chain smokes in coffee shops all day, then starts all out bar brawls at night.” (06.09)
